28: Mortal Engines

Sunday Dec 16, 2018

Sunday Dec 16, 2018

This week, before sitting down to discuss Mortal Engines (2018), a 100% accurate prediction of the world in literally 10 years, Beefstronauts Andrew and Oscar discover a stowaway/guest/hostage by the name of Jason aboard the ship. As punishment, we hazed him by playing the audiobook of the original Phillip Reeve novel on repeat until he knew every single detail word for word, at which point we immediately initiated him into honourary beefboyhood and recorded this ep.

26: Trainspotting & T2

Saturday Dec 01, 2018

Saturday Dec 01, 2018

This week beefbois Oscar and Andrew talk smack as we cover twenty years of shooting up between Danny Boyle's Trainspotting (1996) and its sequel, T2 Trainspotting (2017).
As a method actor, Ewan McGregor actually became a heroin addict for the first film, managing to get clean just in time to get readdicted for the sequel. Rehab involved having to repeatedly watch his own performance in the first film until he could correctly identify the number of trains shown on-screen during the whole run. Afterwards, he was left with a working vocabulary of only two words: 'Spud' and the c-bomb (councilhousing).

Saturday Nov 24, 2018

Here on Beef Station, we had the first few Harry Potter movies beamed up to us via satellite-link, until we drifted through a nebula and lost our signal. This week, the Beefbois take a look at two new Potter movies that were found on a USB stashed with our recent resupply of space-rations. Except it's New York, and the 20s, and somehow now Harry looks like that Danish painter lady.
Eagerly anticipating the day we come back into range, so we can finally find out what other wholesome adventures Harry got up to after meeting that Sirius Black dude. He's a rad guy.

24: Bohemian Rhapsody & Ray

Saturday Nov 17, 2018

Saturday Nov 17, 2018

This week, beefbois Andrew and Oscar wind the windows of Beef Station down and blare two musical biopics across the stars: Bohemian Rhapsody (2018) and Ray (2004). Both recount the lives of musicians that between the two of them probably laid more mileage of pipe than the Druzhba line. Seriously, it's a wonder either of them ever got around to writing music. Hit the Road Jack? More like Hit the Back Walls Ray, am I right? Haha.
The movies were pretty good.

22: The Thing & The Fly

Saturday Nov 03, 2018

Saturday Nov 03, 2018

In a Halloween-themed Beef Station Spooktacular, beefbois Andrew and Oscar have their bodies destroyed, eviscerated, imitated and transformed as they get into the body horror genre with John Carpenter's The Thing (1982) and David Cronenberg's The Fly (1986).

Next week on Beef Station: Mandy (2018) and National Treasure (2004) (we promise this time, sorry guys)

Saturday Oct 27, 2018

This week, Beefbois Andrew and Oscar start off looking at First Man (2018) in which Ryan Reynolds stars as Tom Hanks starring as astronaut Jim Lovell. The meta-film takes place during the filming of Apollo 13, culminating in a step-by-stem manifesto on how one would convincingly fake a lunar landing. Secondly they look at Bad Times at the El Royale (2018), a film starring literally anyone that wanted to be in it. Our discussion is mostly rooted in a deep disappointment that Chris Hemsworth's shirtless body wasn't exploited nearly enough over the course of the film.
